The case finally came to the jury on Monday after the lunch break, and after much deliberations........ we have taken one vote on the two defendants in the case. I voiced my opinion quite a few times when it was asked of me as we went around the room. Fortunately we are a good group working together and free to speak up as we feel led to interject. The outcome of the first unofficial vote was hopeful at least to me that we MIGHT actually come to an agreement tomorrow or I am just hopeful because I want to be done......... Plus there are two people who have vacations starting this weekend and they won't be deterred!
Praying that this is soon over. Today was the mark of the seventh week since I was called to come in and minus the two week vacation they took where the court was dark for Thanksgiving and the week after. But even 3 weeks of jury selection and 2 weeks of trial it has gone beyond my civic duty obligation.. My supervisors check with me everyday to see how it's going.. I can only imagine what my desk looks like with two complete weeks of mail, emails and invoices looks like piled up.
Wish me well for Wednesday..
