Today was the first day of vacation.. & it was so relaxing.. I had no alarm go blaring at 3:50am (Greg was glad about that as well). Which means I got to stay up later on Sunday night & so I slept until 6, & finally rolled out of bed after 8 which was a treat & much needed catch up on sleep. Once up, I only had one thing that was needed to be done and that was packing my suitcase.
Once I was ready for the day and had breakfast I grabbed my Kohls return in the bag and headed there. No luck finding an exchange item so return it was. I then headed to the nail salon and got a manicure with a dark burgundy gel polish.. From there I stopped at a friends house and dropped off a bridal shower gift for a party that I won't be able to make it to this next weekend, nice visit with Nancy for a few minutes.
When I returned home, it was time to get going with the job at hand of deciding what to take and get it into the bag.. the plan was to just bring a few items and do laundry and then I realized that was crazy since I wasn't going to be in one place long enough for laundry to hang out and dry.. so I packed enough for each day.. taking the smaller of suitcases that will be checked in and so I know that I didn't go over 50 lbs.. I fly into Omaha at 2:15pm leaving LAX at 8:05am with a brief stop in Las Vegas to boot out some people and then we move onto Omaha from there. I have a car rented and will then make the 3:15 minute drive to Luverne for the first stop. I will get a chance to see Uncle Alvin & Aunt Gladys, & Dave & Rhonda on Wednesday night when they come for dessert at my parents house. Thursday I will head to Windom to attend a function at Marlys church in Heron Lake in the early afternoon. Friday night is Jamies graduation, Sunday is the afternoon graduation party.. And Monday night I fly back home from Omaha.
Well, I have a last look at the luggage situation and make sure I have the medical needs for the trip all packed up. With my luck in lost baggage or baggage that arrives later than I do, I have a pit in my stomach as to whether this might be another trip like that.. Oh well, no worry will get it there any better..
good night.. Lorinda
