As I write this I have a song playlist on in the background and that is a nice distraction from the silence... because without Greg or Shane at home it has been a quiet, very quiet day here on the home front. I worked later at the office and stopped at the H & H nursery to pick up about 6 plants and two new hanging baskets before heading home..
When I got home, Curley greeted me at the gate and so I played frisbee awhile and sat with him scratching his coat which he likes.. Had a little bit of lunch and then got my grubby clothes on to plant the last of flowers for awhile. The yard looks fresh and spring like with lots of potential with just the right amount of sunshine and watering over the next couple of months before summer kicks in. The lawn has greened up quite a bit lately so that adds to it as well. Tonight was BBQ chicken tossed in a salad for my solo dinner and then a little more playing with the puppy and giving him his dinner. I brought a 8 inch pile of paid invoices to sort alphabetically and by date that has been piling up and I don't get the time to work on them with all of the distractions that go on there. So I accomplished that today at home and can quickly file them tomorrow and take that off of the "haunting me" list finally. It was more of a CYA so that when I leave for vacation my desktop divider looks civilized rather than "behind the 8 ball".
Shane is at the fire station for his 24 hour shift on Wednesdays, he is a few weeks from completing all of the checkoff boxes of skills and will finish with his Class 1 Fire Certificate. He's looking forward to having that accomplishment completed and behind him.. Next step is a few weeks off from volunteering, and then he will start the 2nd year and attain his Class 2 Certification all the while he will be applying for jobs and anticipating the openings that might come his way in his career.
Greg is in Ft. Wayne, IN for work this week. I'm looking forward to my 6 days off of work that begins Friday afternoon 10th and I don't have to return until Tuesday morning the 21st.. I will be flying out Tuesday morning early to Omaha, renting a car and heading to Luverne for a few days, and then to Windom to attend niece Jamie's High School graduation... Greg and I had planned on doing this together but then his nephew Adam announced his engagement and wedding on Dec. 28th, so Greg had to opt to switch his vacation week to make that event.
Well enough rambling today, it's bedtime and listening to audible book that reads to me for a short amount of time on my ipad... good night
